Feed-in tariff design analysis in Latin America

Dr. David Jacobs co-authored a report examining renewable energy policies in Latin American and Caribbean countries, with special attention paid to feed-in tariffs. The consultants worked with the Inter-American Development Bank to develop a policy evaluation framework for analysing and comparing different policies and conducted reviews of policies in Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, and Peru. Furthermore, detailed policy designs were tailored for the Jamaican and Ecuadorian energy markets. The results of the study were presented at the World Climate Summit in Cancun and published in the Energy Policy journal. The project was executed by Dr. Jacobs as director of renewable energies at the consulting firm IFOK.
